About CREA
What is CREA and who issues these certifications?
CREA stands for Certified Roles in Enterprise Agility. Certifications are issued by a company registered in England and Wales, designed to provide globally recognised professional credentials for Agile practitioners — Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Agile Coaches, and Delivery Leaders.
Are CREA certifications recognised internationally?
Yes. CREA certifications are designed to be globally accepted. Examination content covers universally applicable Agile and Scrum frameworks used across industries and geographies worldwide. The certifications are issued in English and are suitable for professionals working in any country.
Is CREA certification recognised in India?
Yes. CREA-SM and CREA-PO are globally applicable credentials and are increasingly recognised by Agile teams and employers across India, alongside CSM and SAFe certifications. The curriculum covers tools and frameworks (Jira, Azure DevOps, SAFe, LeSS) widely used by Indian IT services and product companies, and the digital certificate can be added directly to your LinkedIn profile.
How is CREA-SM different from CSM or SAFe SSM?
CREA-SM is designed to complement existing credentials like CSM and SAFe SSM. While CSM focuses on Scrum theory and SAFe SSM focuses on scaled delivery, CREA-SM covers a broader practical skillset: working in Jira, Azure DevOps, and Rally; managing across multiple scaling frameworks; interpreting metrics; and handling stakeholder complexity. If you hold other Agile certifications, CREA adds depth where most programmes stop.
Eligibility & Enrolment
Do I need prior experience to enrol?
There are no mandatory prerequisites. The programmes are most effective for practitioners with some exposure to Agile delivery environments, but all foundational concepts are covered within the course content. Beginners should work through all modules sequentially before attempting the exam.
Can I take CREA-SM and CREA-PO together?
Yes. Both programmes are standalone — there is no dependency between them. You can enrol in both simultaneously and progress through each at your own pace. Many practitioners find value in holding both credentials, as the Scrum Master and Product Owner roles are closely interdependent.
The Exam
What is the pass mark?
Both CREA-SM and CREA-PO require a 70% pass mark. CREA-SM: 80 questions, 90 minutes (56 correct to pass). CREA-PO: 70 questions, 75 minutes (49 correct to pass). Practice tests and a full mock exam are included within each programme.
What types of questions appear in the exam?
The exam includes multiple-choice questions and scenario-based questions. Scenario questions present a realistic delivery situation and ask you to identify the most appropriate Agile response. The Module 6 exam guide within each programme details question types and common traps with worked examples.
What if I do not pass on my first attempt?
If you do not pass on your first attempt, additional exam attempts can be purchased. There is no mandatory waiting period before reattempting. Your course access and progress are retained. We recommend revisiting the relevant modules before reattempting.
Certificates
Do CREA certificates expire?
CREA certificates do not expire. They represent a point-in-time professional achievement. Practitioners are encouraged to pursue additional CREA credentials as new certifications are released.
How can my certificate be verified?
Every CREA certificate includes a unique credential code (e.g. CREA-SM-XXXXX). This can be verified by any third party via the public verification page at creacertification.org/verify. Certificates are also designed to be shared on LinkedIn and included in CV documents.
